About the Doctor
Dr. Maryam Alavi’s journey into dentistry began at the young age of 18 when she was accepted into both Veterinary and Dental schools in Iran. Choosing dentistry over veterinary medicine, she followed her passion and has never looked back; though her affection for animals remains strong. After graduating, Dr. Alavi committed herself to lifelong learning, pursuing advanced knowledge through postgraduate courses and eventually earning a Master’s degree in Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry.
In 2017, Dr. Alavi moved to Australia to broaden her professional horizons. She faced a rigorous process to gain the right to practice dentistry in Australia, overcoming stringent exams and assessments to earn full licensure from the Dental Board of Australia and the Australian Dental Council. Recognizing the evolving nature of dental science, she pursued a second Master’s degree in Dental Implants in Sydney in 2019, enabling her to provide cutting-edge implant treatments.
With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Alavi remains passionate about delivering exceptional dental care. During the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, she joined Lidums Dental in 2020, collaborating with specialists to offer outstanding smile transformations. Dr. Alavi prides herself on being part of a practice that maintains the highest standards, continually elevating the patient experience beyond general dentistry.
Professional Philosophy and Personal Life
Dr. Alavi believes in providing dental care that blends advanced science with genuine compassion. She is grateful for the welcoming Australian community she now calls home. Outside the clinic, Dr. Alavi enjoys jogging along the beach with her Corgi, Borzoo, engaging in podcasts, and relaxing with friends.
